LIQUID FIRE CLAIMS VICTORY AT NBOA MARINE INSURANCE GULF COAST OPEN

Joshua, Crockett and Mark show their winning 47.93# king mackerel
Our Liquid Fire Fishing Team could not have written a better script to the beginning of the 2012 king mackerel tournament fishing season.  The advent of a new model from Intrepid Powerboats and development of relationships with numerous sponsors was enhanced when our team of;  Joshua, Crockett, Audrey and Mark Henderson, traveled 750 miles from Cape Carteret, NC, to Sarasota, FL, on May 5, 2012, to participate in the 2nd Annual NBOA Gulf Coast Open King Mackerel Tournament.

Outfitted with the finest products in the industry, our team claimed the top spot in the prestigious, Southern Kingfish Association event with a 47.96-pound king mackerel.   In addition to the team’s victory, Crockett Henderson was the event’s top Junior Angler.  Our team was awarded $12,000, a $10,000 voucher towards a new Contender and a GOST Nav-Tracker.

“Winning a respected event like the NBOA Gulf Coast Open was truly special for our Liquid Fire Fishing Team,” said Mark Henderson captain of Liquid Fire. “Our new Intrepid 375TE CC Open performed flawlessly! The Sarasota area is home to some of the greatest king mackerel fishing teams in the world, and it was an honor and pleasure to be able to compete with them.”

“We are so fortunate to have such great sponsors who have helped us with this amazing boat,” said Henderson.  “The technology that our new Simrad NSS12’s provide is unbelievable!  We used the structure scan feature to help us target an area we thought would hold fish.  It lead us directly to the spot, and big mama was there!!”

“Using the Simrad Sirius satellite weather system helped us make a really good decision to fish a certain area during tournament day.  We were able to pull up the conditions at our targeted location, 180 miles from check-out, and found that it wasn’t conducive to our plans.  We turned toward an area we found using the detailed charting system early in the week and located a great class of fish.”

The victory was a great start for the Liquid Fire Fishing Team in the quest for its second Angler of the Year and third Top Pro Junior Angler titles.
